TO QUALIFY, APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
• A valid Class A commercial driver’s license with hazmat and tanker endorsements
• Minimum of 1 year experience hauling bulk fuel with either a tractor/trailer or bobtail
• Carded drivers are preferred
• Additional requirements listed below
THE BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE SUN COAST DRIVER are to load deliver and unload various products at various customer locations in a professional, friendly, timely, safe and efficient manner. Follow delivery instructions, and maintain compliance with all DOT safety regulations, company and customer policies and procedures.

• Properly load and unload product at various customer locations in a professional friendly, timely, safe and efficient manner
• Prioritize, multi-task, manage time, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Read, write and communicate using English language sufficiently enough to perform job functions
• Perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
• Complete and turn in paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measures
• Operate telephone, copiers, fax machines and computers
• Work in both inside and outside environmental conditions
• Use truck technology as instructed (Smartlogix, Qualcomm)
• Connect and disconnect hoses, operating pumps and valves for loading and unloading, safely filling tanks using various size hoses, nozzles and fittings
• Ensure truck is loaded with correct product and gallons according to delivery instructions
• Check tank to determine there is ample room for the product volume prior to off-loading
• Ensure use of proper connections, and avoid product contamination or spills
• Check tank for proper ventilation prior to off- loading to a tank
• May be required to climb ladders on tanks
• May be required to pull samples of products from tanks and/or test products
• Stay with the truck and equipment when loading and unloading
• Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to customers including obtaining and providing information regarding delivery
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers, including the checking of tire pressures and notify Fleet Manager of any vehicle issues
• Ensure all equipment, barrels, tanks, and tank stands, are properly stored, strapped and secured before leaving a facility
• Maintain the no smoking policy in or within 25’ of the vehicle or loading area
• Must be local to terminal (within 60 miles)
• Minimum age 23
• No DUI’s or DWI’s within the past 10 years
• No license suspensions for the past 3 years
• No more than 3 moving traffic violations in the past 3 years
• Valid Class A or Class B license with hazmat and tanker endorsements
• TWIC Card
• Minimum of 1 year experience hauling bulk fuel with either a tractor trailer or a bobtail truck
• Ability to read, speak, write, and communicate using the English language sufficiently enough to perform the job functions
• Good driving record
• Stable employment history
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and DOT drug screening
• Basic math skills
• Good communication skills, verbal and written
• Must be able to pass background screening (Criminal and MVR)
• Professional appearance and attitude
• May be required to lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds
• Must be able to meet all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulatory guidelines
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, responsibilities, strategies, demands and timelines
• Ability to work between 12 to 18 hours per day
• Must be able to work an extended work week. A work week may exceed 70 hours (oilfield exemption applies)
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
• Schedule must be flexible. May be asked to report to work nights, early, stay late, work on weekends.
• Out of town travel and/or overnight may be required
• Some mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, manage time, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to work well in a team environment and get along with others
